NEW, MODERNIZED DESIGN

For almost 2 years, we have been imagining and working on an evolution of the Superman model. Our aim was to bring technical improvements and modernized construction to this legendary model in our collection, while preserving its iconic design.

NEW ARCHITECTURE FOR BEZEL, BEZEL LOCK & CROWN

The Superman's centerpiece, the nose-block, patented by the brand in its day, has been redesigned to ensure a better fit between the crown tube and the nose-block. The latter is therefore more stable.

To achieve this, we had to redesign all the bezel and crown components. Additional holes were drilled in the bezel to optimize the movement of the pawl spring and ensure more precise alignment of the bezel insert.

The crown architecture has been completely reworked. The length of the tube between the crown and the lever-block has been modified, giving it better notching and greater stability. When unscrewed, the crown gives a solid, high-quality feel when winding and setting the time.

3 TIME ZONES 

Bi-directional bezel with 24-hour graduation in scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, offering a high-grade glossy appearance. High-quality Super-LumiNova Grade A coating. Designed for travelers, the GMT complication lets you read up to 3 different time zones using the GMT hand and 24-click rotating bezel.

INCREASED WATERTIGHTNESS TO 500M

In addition to its GMT functions, the Superman model is aimed above all at diving professionals, and now boasts 500m water-resistance and technical improvements enabling it to adjust the bezel setting, with the crown unscrewed, on the surface of the water before immersion.

In order to offer this new Superman with a water-resistance of 50 bars (500m), the case back has been increased in thickness from 1.5mm to 2.2mm. YEMA historic coat-of-arms is stamped using a hydraulic press, and is now treated with a variety of bead-blasting processes for a more embossed look.

SUPER-LUMINOVA GRADE A

Upgrade from Super-LumiNova Grade Standard to Grade A for enhanced legibility and easy reading of the three time zones in any situation. The GMT bezel, with its sapphire insert combined with Super-LumiNova, required a special, innovative design to offer day/night visibility even in the dark.

DAY/NIGHT FUNCTION

During the Antarctic summer, the sun is almost constantly in the sky, and the days lengthen rapidly until the sun never sets again, a phenomenon known as the Midnight Sun.
During this perpetual sunshine, the 24-hour graduated GMT bezel helps to distinguish day from night. The bezel is divided into two halves, each with a distinct color, one corresponding to daylight hours, the other to night-time hours.

MORE RESISTANT DOUBLE-DOME SAPPHIRE CRYSTAL

The Superman 500 GMT features a high-quality, double-domed sapphire crystal 2.60mm thick, offering improved legibility, enhanced resistance and a resolutely vintage look.
The glass has been reduced in height by 0.3mm and enlarged in external diameter by 0.6mm, while retaining a thickness of 2.6mm, making it more resistant on the chased side while retaining the DNA of its "Glace Box" shape.

CALIBRE MAISON GMT YEMA3000

The YEMA3000 in-house GMT complication caliber is powered by optimized components offering slightly better performance than generic calibersETA, Sellita, Miyota) with a daily drift of +/- 10 s/d and a 42-hour power reserve.

NAVIGATION AID

Developed primarily as a time-measuring instrument for professionals and explorers called upon to criss-cross the globe, the Superman 500 GMT can also prove useful as a backup to the primary navigational aid.
To locate the cardinal points in the southern hemisphere, simply point the 12 o'clock index on the watch dial towards the sun, with the north/south line midway between the 12 o'clock index and the hour hand.
